African Adinkra Symbol Man's Spirit - Carved Wood Plaque
Adinkra Symbols are African Proverbs based in Akan and other West African cultures. These symbols handcrafted in Ghana, are found in many forms, but this beautiful Vintage Wood Plaque is my favorite. It can either be placed on a stand as seen in the photo or it can be placed on the wall, there is an opening in back for hanging.
NYAME NNWU NA MAWU
GOD NEVER DIES, THEREFORE I CANNOT DIE
Symbol of God's Omnipresence and the Perpetual Existence of Man's Spirit
This signifies the immortality of man's soul, believed to be a part of God. Because the sout rests with God after death, it cannot die.
The above is according to the Adinkra Dictionary
