The symbols and images throughout the traditional batik, show the individual artist's perception of art and their environment.

As this textile is handmade by a family in Zimbabwe, and not in a factory, there are slight splotches of paint, some uneven lines and other signs of naturally made art. This can be seen when zooming in on the photo.
