Vintage Batik Handmade in Zimbabwe, incorporates traditional elements in Zimbabwean batik art, depicting the Fish,Turtle, Guinea Fowl and Abstract elements of the environment. Colors of green, white, gold and brown are framed by a hand-painted border with Fringe at the top and bottom.

What makes the batiks of African Art Home Decor unique is that they are one of a kind, totally the vision of the artist, and are purchased from individual artists and families. Ninety five percent of the Batiks I have are purchased from one family and the other 5% comes from two other artists in Zimbabwe. No two Batiks are alike although they may be somewhat similar.

This Batik is 100% Cotton and can be safely washed. The fabric is referred to as Back-weave in Zimbabwe, it is 100% Cotton, but heavier than the cotton fabric that is referred to as Sheeting. Back-weave is similar in texture to mud-cloth although slightly lighter weight.

This beautiful item looks great as a wall hanging, tapestry, framed, or draped over furniture.
