Vintage Batik Handmade in Zimbabwe, incorporates traditional elements in Zimbabwean batik art, depicting the Elephant, Fish ,Turtle and Abstract elements of the environment. The brown, natural, navy and gold colors of this batik are framed by a solid charcoal border, with fringe at the top and bottom of the Batik.

What makes the batiks in my shop unique is that they are one of a kind and totally the vision of the artist. There may be a similar one but no two are alike.

This Batik is 100% Cotton and can be safely washed. The fabric is referred to as Backweave in Zimbabwe, it is 100% Cotton, but heavier than the cotton fabric that is referred to as Sheeting. Backweave is similar in texture to mudcloth but more solid and slightly lighter weight.

This beautiful item looks great as a wall hanging, tapestry, framed, it's fabulous draped over furniture.
