African Art Maasai Women Baskets on Head Original Painting Acrylic and Ink on Leather Framed Abstract Kenya 19"H X 15"W
Beautifully painted in Kenya, this original, abstract depiction of Maasai Warriors in Kenya by Martin Bulinya under glass, has been matted and framed in black painted wood. This painting is called Happy Breed. Martin paints on leather and on hardwood; I was intriqued by the leather and this is one of the leather paintings.
Martin Bulinya's work is inspired by the cubist artists and traditional African art. As this Kenyan artist from the village of Moiben went to school with the Maasai people at Narok, and was fascinated by their perception of the world, their simplicity and their way of life, he honors this tribal society with his art.
There is a minuscule chip and scratch in the frame only, that can easily be covered. I never make repairs; therefore the customer knows exactly what to expect from the item. This is also the only art that I did purchase directly from the artist or meet the artist directly, but rather from his representative who sought me out to sell this beautiful work. I do handle the matting and framing.
There is a 12" copper wire on back for hanging this work of art.
