Handcrafted in South Africa these vintage coasters are made using Zulu tribal zig-zag designs and traditional weaving methods. The colors of copper, gold and black beads are meticulously woven into these patterns bordered with a double row of black glass beads.

These traditional Zulu designs are the same that are used throughout the culture, particularly in Zulu baskets.

In addition to being used as coasters, designers have purchased this bead work to decorate a pocket or cuff.
