Zulu Multiple Love Letter in Indigo,handcrafted by Zulu women in rural Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.  This is a contemporary version of the traditional Love Letter Necklace. It is a fashion statement. The traditional Zulu Love Letter is smaller and given to the male by a female who has interest in him. I'm told that in the culture, the woman would be too shy to say I love you and therefore lets the Love Letter do the talking for her.  There are different patterns and colors with different meanings in the traditional Love Letter, which you will also find on this website.

Although this necklace is called a choker, it is not quite a choker as the base is 21" long.
