Vintage Bronze African Female Semi Nude Sitting 20th Century
Stunning Bronze Sculpture of an African Beauty sitting, contemplating. The details are so intricate and perfect that it could be a 3 dimensional photograph. Her head is turning to the right while her upper body is slightly twisted right with a bracelet adorned arm covering one breast while bent and touching her shoulder. Sitting crossed legged, her tribal skirt/apron just below the navel and anklets adorning her left leg. The detailing is exceptional as she turns to lean on her left arm while looking over her shoulder. The back of her skirt gently flowing away from her waist. Her amazing face and detailed hair are accentuated by her tribal earrings.
It's obvious that this artist appreciates and admires the beauty of the African Woman. As with a few artists I met in my early travels to Africa, this artists new work is totally different than these beautiful works of art and I'm pleased that I found him early. The reason they've given me for changing is that they now make what they feel the public wants and therefore, they will sell more.
A beautiful work of art and one of three sculptures in this handcrafted South African triad. Photo of all three is shown; listing is for the one primary Sitting Lady only.
